For every dream and vision that you have, there will be 100 dream snatchers waiting to rain on your parade. You have to make a decision to weather the storm and wait for the sun to shine. Nothing worthwhile happens overnight. During your hardships people will do anything and everything to discourage you. You don’t need people to validate you. That’s God’s job!
Your dreams are valid. It’s up to you to manifest them. I wish I had a dollar for every person that thought I wasn’t going to make it. They refused to believe that I couldn’t change. As a matter of fact, they’re still judging me based on my past. They can’t see the forest for the trees. But that’s their problem, not mine.
God blessed me with a gift to write. I acknowledged and embraced it. I made a decision to never give up. I love being the only one in the room without a college degree. I knew that my success was not if, but when. I took my sweet time and surrounded myself with people that believed in me and themselves. I made sure that they were true professionals. I’ve got my team in place now. I’m honored to say that I’m a member of the fastest growing publishing company in the nation: Brown Girls Publishing. I just want to take a moment and thank my publishers Victoria Christopher Murray and ReShonda Tate Billingsley for taking a chance on me. I’m a firm believer that dreams do come true.
